thank you . Yes exactly the first test i could not verify the cable. 2nd test i coud not verify the monitor i need to find a old computer with a DVI out
getting started with KRC4 compact, on a kr10 r1100 sixx

The PING menu is open and i can enter data and try a ping, I have not done that yet i don't know what it will do
the RDP has some data to enter and i have not tried any of that i don't know what it is
and the Network page i have made 2 attempts but i never filled out the data completely?
.. while you are here panic, i don't know if you ever gave a answer to trying any of the inputs available on the session manager menu. Either the "PING, RDP or Network". popular opinion says NO help there...
I have told you already that tampering on smartpad is a waste of time and you have NO chance to make things better this way. You have ignored that
.
Adapters from one graphic standard to other standard can work, but in many cases they don't work. In your case it seems that it doesn't work. The output logic of graphic cards try to autodetect whether a monitor is connected or not, this in many cases doesn't work with those adapters. So best choice is to have a monitor with fitting connector.

good morning. thanks Herman, i have not fully ignored the HMI stuff i have not acted on it either way, I guess i like explanations, It is difficult for me to accept a blind finite statement advice from people i don't know especially without a explanation.
Moving forward
today i have checked my remote monitor and its cable. I did have to have one adapter, but that was from the video source to the cable. So the whole cable and the monitor were tested.
I want to get the remote monitor hooked up and begin troubleshooting.
Can i get a few points of clarification on the KRC4 anatomy.
the main/mother board is the larger board on the floor of the cabinet where i am pointing in the pic. about the video card.
What are the other 2 boards on the movable lid of the controller one larger board labelecad X1 and another board stacked on it that has lots of rj45?
What is under the controller deck under the X1 board
can we clarify what i need to look for and on what board. please if you are using a abbreviations or acronyms i might have trouble
for now i am looking for a Red Vmon LED, from Panic Mode, but i don't know where to look
-
And I have a red light. I'm gonna assume this is bad
I tried to get a better pick but the light washes out the text
in case you cant see the pic, the red LED is confirmed to be red Vold Mon Fail
i am looking up the error code now but no luck yet

advice is to not touch ANYTHING unless it is both well documented AND you are CERTAIN that you have tools and know how to revert changes.
go through KUKA documentation and read (or search using CTRL+F) for anything that explains changing network settings or using RDP and you will see validity of the advice.

in case of KRC4 motherboard failures, just about every failure i have ever seen was the same one - as shown by red Voltage monitor LED.
years ago i had access to several defective boards. i regret not taking advantage of opportunity and troubleshoot them to find the real reason for the failure. to others i would suggest to try finding someone like Lewis Rossmann.

Hi panic mode, thanks for your help. I don't think a new motherboard is in the cards $ wise.
But also
I assume a new motherboard would also need a full system file rebuild as well more $
Where with a fix the file system would remain intact???
i am going to assume the problem was DIRT, This was not the dirtiest computer box i have seen but it is on up there. I had a fan slow warning that i disregraded as i was not running the machine more that a few minutes at a time since i have owned it.

no.... motherboard is piece of hardware. all software is on HDD so replacing motherboard does not require any reinstall.... but if replaced, one should install new board package that comes with it.

It happened to me to have burnt mainboard - red light on voltmon fail - just by accidentally stoping the cooling fan. The solution was to repair the motherboard - i was happy to find someone to do it. The new motherboard is expensive, you can look for exchange option - i think KUKA have this on my.kuka.com. If you buy from Kuka - they will provide some files so you can update the system. If you are planning to buy second hand - make sure it is under warranty and also it needs to be exactly the same model
WHat you need to understand in terms to be able to identify what is what in this system is that the KUKA pad is like a tablet - it have its own Windows operating system and the messages you see there (unless it is connected normally to the control cabinet) are just telling you that the Smartpad cannot connect to the Kuka cabinet - cant get IP address. It is not asking you for this - just informing you. So changing anything there is a dead end.
As it is now clear that you have damaged board - try to find someone to fix it.
And about the cooling fan - if in any case this fan stops, the robot also halts - so you need to take good care of the cooling fans.
Good luck! -
thanks, panic mode. But from what i have seen. I think i am firmly in the used parts market $ wise.
I don't like to admit it but, this project will have to go on the shelf for now. I need to look for the manual or emergency move info to collapse arm into travel pose.
I guess electric brake release was a option
-
I have seen a post about manual brake release with application of 24v on some pins. Can anyone help with the manual 24v brake release by pins at the x30 connector on the arm itself?
the post i found was not specific to the KR10 arm
or is it just better to use the socket and override the brakes i was pretty sure that overriding the brakes causes damaga??
-
can anyone offer any help on getting the KR10 r1100 sixx robot from home position into a storage pose, with a failed motherboard? i want to confirm the pin # on the X30 plug that operate the 12v brakes, i saw pin 4 and 5, but i need to confirm that . If i can't move it so be it but it would be nice if i could make it a bit more compact
i want to move axis 1, 90 deg, axis 2 not quite 90, and axis 3 close to 90 deg as well
-
Thanks vvelikov I like the idea of finding someone to repair the existing board . I was thinking it would be a bit of a trick to find a good used matching board
I would also like to be able to fold this arm up a bit. So it does not take up so much space
I would have thought this was still a manageable size to have push button brake release. Like a lot of other smaller arms. I did read here that in emergency. The procedure is to just dis mount the arm
Will the kuka brake release accessory work on the kr10.
-
Agilus arms are small and not to heavy. You can release brakes by supplying 24VDC to correct terminals. This will cause arm to collapse under gravity so be careful and have someone tou tryst to gold and fold arm while brakes are released. Beware That robot will lise mastering and it will require calibration.
