im getting a bit better at the kuka downloads page. the kuka expert section searches a lot better, i would still like a title for the KLI manual and the integration manual
Left of the yellow koni label there is a white dvi port where you can probably connect your monitor.
ok if it is the one i am thinking I don't have that in stock.
The one with 24 pins in 3 rows on the left and on the right it has flat cross blade with 4 pins?
Also where do the keyboard and mouse plug in?
and im still thinking it might be as easy as connecting to work visual why won't that work??

Usb.

I give up. Your problem is rdp connection from kcp to kss. Has nothing to do with Work Visual at all. You seem to know everything better than anybody else while showing your skills are very limited. My support ends here.
thanks fubini, i had asked that question a few times and no one answered, It seems like a valid question. , and it is just a question. especially after i said i don't have that special DVI plug in stock. but if you cant handle it
but thanks for your support so far; believe it or not it did help a bit.
Can there be a list of the different ways to connect the monitor. you all have listed 2 so far.
1. get a full size graphics card that seems tough
2. i get a DVI Male to HDMI? adapter ( I can get this ) don't know about today but i saw one. that will do the monitor, then i need a old style usb keyboard and a usb mouse
and im still thinking it might be as easy as connecting to work visual why won't that work??
You are thinking wrong. When pc/kss doesn't boot correct, you have no chance to connect with work visual. You can try it anyway, and check your thinking without asking here.
i apologize i have been beating up on Wov, and that is not really what i mean.
my current available options that i have on the menu. The network page is asking for a IP address and a subnet address.
from the second photo in post 82 what happens if i put in the IP and Subnet address it is asking for
again i do apologize for the work visual . i was thinking that maybe the workvisual connection handshake so to speak would require a IP address input that i thought i have
So i have looked and tried ill try to list what is availbe on the menu i have
The PING menu is open and i can enter data and try a ping, I have not done that yet i don't know what it will do
the RDP has some data to enter and i have not tried any of that i don't know what it is
and the Network page i have made 2 attempts but i never filled out the data completely?
i also still have the saftey error, I have checked the X11, it looks pretty good even with a meter. Is my system breaking down in the boot up before it gets to the safety side??
ok i have a line on a DVI to HDMI cable . I am not sure if it is a dual direction cable or not. i have a USB mouse. So i am willing to give this a try even without a keyboard if that will be possible.
Can someone help verify the procedure. from what i understand
1. disconnect the teach pendant
2. everything else connected normal
3. connect usb mouse to thee usb port just below the KONI port
4 connect a old TV hdmi to the DVI connection on the KR c4
5. power up the system and see what happens?
it will be a bit before the cable gets here.
any other troubleshooting advice is appreciated.
and Thanks Herman
all you need to do it type something like
KSS 8.3
and search...
then check for something suitable like product info. then on the right side you get all the documentation you can handle, including programming manuals. guess what document is on top of that list...
thanks i just downloaded that at lunch time except i got version .SI. i have not even had a chance to really look.
I need to plug here?
those would be motherboard slots to insert compatible video card in case there is no other video output. as i recall only the earliest KRC4 motherboard had no onboard video. all later versions do have it. unfortunately, type of video interface was not fixed, it kept on changing from one board version to the next (none, VGA, DVI, display port, ...)
Hi Panic mode, yes Fubini Said i should try and get a video signal from the DVI port near the koni port.
so Panic Would there be a better way to get the video signal than the DVI.? I have a cable i can buy around the corner but i don't know if it is a dual direction cable or not. it is DVI to HDMI
while you are here panic, i don't know if you ever gave a answer to trying any of the inputs available on the session manager menu. Either the "PING, RDP or Network". popular opinion says NO help there. That is why i kept asking what IP address to give it of the several that i have available from photos. But i kind of understand now, that where i am is for lack of a better way . i am locked out before any of those IP address entries can be even read. I guess that is how i understand it.
thanks i just downloaded that at lunch time except i got version .SI.
that is the one you want. manual for end user is much thinner
the KSS8.3 i got is over 500 pages i think
OK i got this cable what should i be looking for when this thig powers up???
first try with the cable did nothing
can i try and "PING" somethin inside the controller to see if it is powered up or booted
OR can it make it any worse to try and ping one of the IP addresses from a older picture
i don't know of a way to test the DSV cable it very well could be a ONE WAY cable . I might have to get a double DVI cable and a actual computer monitor
what cable? what did you try exactly?
please use complete sentences and focus on ONE thing rather than jumping from topic to topic. this is essential to get anything resolved.
in this case you are talking about both video cable and ethernet commands. nobody can tell for sure what you are up to.
a PROPER way to start conversation is open new thread or topic for EACH question, not lump bunch of them into one mega thread. this thread is a perfect example of what not to do. this is just big pile of unrelated clutter.
example:
how to get display on external monitor? one thread.
how to RDP to KRC4 version ... , KSS version ? another thread.
how to restore network settings to smartPad type1 after IP address was corrupted? another thread.
etc.
being organized, reduces confusion, helps those trying to assist you, and also aids other members trying to find answers to similar issues. so why not close this and starting from scratch. do not resurrect old topics - if you feel need to point at other posts and discussions, use links.
and when supporters ask questions - answer them.
ok sorry for the confusion. But from my end. If you are engaging with me and others on this thread. i feel like you don't read any back posts . i don't expect you to read 2 years worth, but I am trying to do what you tell me and then when i do it you say what the heck are you doing
So i make a couple or 3 posts and you " panic mode" usualluy answer with , what the heck are u doing. this is ongoing with us.
You yourself and pretty much all other advisors? have said the only way forward for this is to connect a external monitor . .
I then say ok and spend the next 3 posts getting set up for the monitor i asked several times how to hook it up, and instead of answering the current question we are on you post up about a manual download. And not anything current,
I have to assume you are reading what i and others are posting. You said you will not give up and to be patient . so if you post, I guess i am assuming that you are up to speed on what happened and you have no dissent on what is going on; since your last post a few hours or minutes ago .
So what i did was i disconnected the pendant, and connected to the DVI port , and from there to a monitor and i powered up. I got no video nothing. There are a couple of issues that make it not a perfect test but i did 2 tests a bit differnt components on the test side and both no signal
I would check if monitor is working, has correct input selected. If that is fine, i would open controller, check if the motherboard is getting power, and if it is fault free (bad sign if red Vmon led is on.
