KUKA KRC5 Anybus Ethercat Configuraion

    First of all, I'm new to KUKA, and I want to thank you in advance for your attention and patience.

    How can I configure the ESI file of Anybus AB4455 EtherCAT card?

    I am able to view Anybus with Beckhoff in Wov. However, I am not allowed to perform I/O mapping on Anybus. Additionally, I receive a PDO error message when trying to load the ESI file into Wov, as shown in Image 1. Looking at the documents I have, I understood that it needs to be configured for 16 bytes. When I compared my ESI file with another configured ESI file, I realized that the section in Image 2 needs to be changed. But I have no idea how to do it. Can you help me with this issue?

    one thing that does not pop out immediately, what are you doing with the anybus? Going from ethercat to another bus? In that case which? To my understanding which may be wrong, kukas implementation of ethercat is limited/restricted. In other words you cannot slap whatever ethercat device in there and expect it to work.

    Im still assuming you can get this to work. But if there was supposed to be any pictures attached in your post they seem to be gone.

    If you want to check the compatible ethercat devices list you can find it on kuka xpert if you search for GC238

    that product is not a gateway - the "other side" is not a fieldbus, it is an interface to main board that you need to create. while it does have features that allow it to appear as EtherCat slave, this as a building block, not a complete product. you need to complete the necessary hardware/software yourself to make a product. the device description files you linked are mere templates - they contain no PDO. PDO defines size of data blocks that are to be exchanged. anyone can buy the AB4455 but they will use it for different things and type and size of PDO will be different for everyone.

    you need to contact Anybus for detailed instructions. you may have to learn about ESI structure (file format) and add the PDOs by hand or try the tools that anybus/hms offers. something like this:

    Truth be told, I'm looking to set up gas metal arc welding on the robot. I've introduced the Beckhoff I/O module to the system. However, I want to integrate the Anybus EtherCAT card of the gas metal arc welding machine as a fieldbus. When I search for the card number on Anybus, it provides me with XML files. I've imported these XML files into Wov. When I perform a scan topology on the connected devices, I can see Anybus-S listed under the fieldbus section. However, it doesn't allow me to perform I/O mapping. As you mentioned, just like panic mode suggested, I need to complete the software. I've been attempting to get in touch with Anybus regarding this issue. It seems that their response might take a bit of time.

    I had accessed the machine manufacturer's XML files. In fact, I had no idea how its programming was done. I examined the XML files of the individuals who had done the programming, and I learned how it was done. Currently, my system is working smoothly. Thank you very much for your assistance.
