MotoSim and Live Controller SYSTEM TASKS

    Hi Guys

    Am I reading this correctly in MotoSim and also on a live robot referencing the Function SYSTEM and INFORM manuals when dealing with System Tasks:

    - System Task Jobs do not have GETARG instruction available to use.

    - System Task jobs cannot CALL other tasks using arguments.

    - The GETARG instruction and CALL with arguments is only available with a robot job or concurrent job.

    Is this really correct before I spend hours down this rabbit hole?

    I am really astounded that this cannot be done if this is the case....... :bawling:

    yes I can confirm for a live robot. I suspect also Motosim (considering that it's a virtual environment of a real robot).

    The system job looks like a kawasaki PC task, but it's not the same.

    I don't know what your application is going to do but I prefer solutions made with the ladder, sometimes it's very hard to achive and a "system" job will be better.

    NOTE

    In yaskawa using the ladder will not mask a system job or the CIO. In the past I've been warned that using the KLADDER will mask any other use of the IO, is it true or my memory is going to be..... :sleep:

    It is what it is then........in today's day and age this is so prehistoric - just like Kawasaki's KCWIN apps...

    It's not an application, I'm on a learning curve exploring the functionality/capability of the Yaskawa Systems and looking at just converting some Kawasaki PC Task templates into Yaskawa, for instance an IF Panel page to enter new XYZ values within a specific range to touch up a master position.

    Never come across that as when the KLOGIC option is enabled, the addressing of the IO changes and it doesn't mask it out, you just have to change your IO addressing if you need to use external IO or fieldbus allocations.
