I am using a Fanuc Robot CRX-10iA/L which is connected to my pc using ethernet cable. The connection works only when I switch off the wifi of the pc. If I switch on the wifi, the connection breaks. How can I have the wifi for internet as well as stay connected to the robot?

Look out for your PC documentation. Had this issue also on my laptop. There was a service from manufacturer HP running in background, that switched off LAN when wifi was active. And vice versa.

This sounds like something for your IT-department to look into.

Your computer should be able to handle multiple network interfaces simultaneously. From the top of my head it seems that your computer is setup so that only one interface can be active, and that there is a bias towards the wifi-interface.

I've never encountered that problem. Just set your ethernet-interface on the computer to the same IP-subnet range and bada-bing!

We have that where I work. It's part of the image on our computers, something to do with security, we are only able to use one network adapter at a time.

thanks for the suggestions. I am using Ubuntu. So, I unchecked the "Automatically Connect" option in the ethernet and now the wifi works as well. So, both the networks are working.
