I've managed to get the PC running on my KUKA KR210 / KRC2 robot arm. The fan and the hard drive are running now ... when I jump the power up pins on the motherboard. However, the teach pendant is still not turning on.

A friend nearby has a KRC2 controlled robot as well. Can I use his KCP to help diagnose whether mine is faulty? If I plug his pendant in to my controller will this create issues?

Yes, the KCP is a simple display with a membrane keyboard and the safety devices in it.

You should be able to exchange them without any issue.

Another option you can do is to plug a keyboard, mouse and VGA monitor into the PC to do the same.

I can't remember now, but maybe it was needed to activate the VGA output in the BIOS before being able to do that.

Probably. There have been different versions of the KCP that used different connectors. But if the connectors are physically compatible, they should be swappable.

There are also different KCP versions that have, or lack, the Teach/Auto mode select key -- some customers insisted on having that switch on the KRC instead of the KCP.

KRC2 teach pendants have compatible connectors... (they are different than for KRC1).

but even so, not all KCP2 are the same. some have mode key switch, some don't and there is also an SP variant (shared pendant) for roboteam.

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

    Yes.
But... an ED05 pendant will work on a non ED05 controller, not the other way arround.
You can jog in T1, but no automatic opearation.
