    Hi,

is there any restriction on robotware version for swapping flexpendants between different controllers? I've got one flexpendant stuck at the ABB boot logo and have tried all suggestions found online and from ABB support, the only thing to do is to test another flexpendant.

The potentially faulty one is talking to a controller with RW 6.01.01. I have another IRC5 compact robot that I could test the pendant from with RW6.12.02

Don't want to risk loosing another flexpendant if this is to create an issue.

    Thanks.

I've swapped flexpendants around pretty much randomly and have never had an issue with Robotware versions. The flexpendant isn't running the robotware so it shouldn't have any issue. Kind of like plugging in a different keyboard to a PC. The operating system of the PC doesn't really make a difference.

The pendant's version of WindowsCE must be matched with the RW version. Conveniently the controller checks the pendant OS version, if it does not match an image download is automatically performed without any need for user intervention. It can take a while but eventually the pendant should boot up.

The above is true for IRC5 controls. I cannot confirm the authenticity of the above for pre and post IRC5 controllers ,
