connecting I/O to controller R-J3iB

    Hi Guys,

    I'm new here and want some help.

    I have a controller Fanuc R-J3iB with arm arcmate 120ib/10L, I would like to know where to connect a limit switch on the controller (24V and signal), i have two switch to be installed, On robot i have 40 Di (22 free) and 40 DO (20 free) based on datasheet. Could someone help to connect a limit switch (input) to the robot ? and same thing to install and connect the gripper ?

    i would like to install a limit switch in a robot and the power will be from the controller(24V) but the signal i cannot see on the controller the connector for the i/o to connect it, example that i found on youtube but not same controller

    the picture attached give us the part number but on the controller i cannot see it. Also i attached a picture of the controller is R-J3iB.

    i don't have any DO or DI used by the robot. but i would like to know the location on the controller to wire my limit switch. I want also to use the internal power supply 24v for my switch .

    They talk about the A05B-2450-J011 for I/O pcb inside the controller but i cannot find it, that's why i want to know where this boad is installed.

    I cannot attach picture idk why .

    You can get access to the fanuc customer resource center, download the maintenance manual for your specific controller, there you will find all informations you need.

    Or you must try harder to give more informations (picture of the cabinet/controller), there exist many different versions of the controller/cabinet with many different options, there is not the one and only possible solution for your question.

    For the gripper there normally exist the EE connector on robot arm. Also see manual, for pin description.

    Do you reallly need to connect the limit switch into the controller? If this signal isn't a safety signal maybe you may consider to use the EE Connector.

    If you have this connector I think this option will help you, it will alow you use this signal for any purpose you have.
