Hi everyone i have experience with KUKA robots. I have an ABB IRB1200 Robot that is to be installed upside down.

I have been reading the manuals but could not find info regarding the following:

    - PLC Integration steps

-Common signals to send to PLC

    - How to setup a safe area; similar to KUKA's $WORKSPACE

    - For the upside down robot, do i have to change 'Mount Angle' or any other settings/configurations ?

    Greatly appreciate your inputs guys.

    - PLC Integration steps

Which robot controller (e.g. IRC5, OmniCore, etc.), RW version, PLC brand and communication protocol are you using?

-Common signals to send to PLC

Some common signals can be found in the system variables manual. Search for "System Inputs" and "System Outputs".

In ABB world this ist called world zones. This requires the "World Zones" option on your controller. By the way, both the KUKA workspaces and the ABB world zones are non-safe funtions and therefore not safety rated.

This is described in the product manual of your robot model. There you will find information about e.g. the procedure and settings/system variables to change.

I am using an IRC5 robot with BECKOFF PLC and EtherNet/IP for communications

In ABB world this is called world zones. This requires the "World Zones" option on your controller.

is it available in all robots or do i have to get in added from the supplier?

    Thanks

You will find the EtherNet/IP manual in the RobotStudio help or you can download it from the ABB Library.

World zones is a paid option. One have to purchase it from ABB directly.

You can check which options are already installed on your controller by e.g. creating a backup and then open the file backinfo.txt.
