    Hi,

Is it possible to have the KRC4 as profinet slave to a Siemens PLC and profinet master to a V90 siemens servo? I seem to have done all the configurations but the robot is still complaining. I imported the V90 servo GSDL to workvisual and added another profinet "comms" to have it as master for the V90. Has anyone tried this topology that could give me some extra tips? Thank you.

PD: I am new to the forum, not sure how to add some images.

Profinet is available as both M/S and -/S.

You need first one if you need master capabilities

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

Thanks Panic Mode for the reply.

At the moment I have both, the KRC4 as slave for the PLC and KRC4 as master for a servo, not sure why for the servo is not working. I have mapped the telegrams on IO config but the only thing I havent done is to actually use the telegram within my code, do you think this could be the reason krc is still complaining?

I have tested the servo with PN using the PLC and all good but not happy with KRC. Thanks once again.

is Profinet version installed on your KRC capable of working as a Master?

if yes, setup and code will be pretty much the same as on PLC. If there are PLC functions or libraries that support the product, you will need them also in KRC or have to write equivalent yourself.

yes, it is. I have PN M/S 5.0. Controlling the servo is very simple, it is just 1/1 telegram with 2 registers only. But krc4 is not happy when configuring PN, it throws these:

    KSS00099 Error on reading/writing PNIO-CTRL
KSS11000 Device could not be started within 20000ms

I am new to robots (one week only) :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: but I have followed pretty much everything (I think) to the letter. I will keep playing and see. Thanks Panic Mode.

Sorry for writing that far in future, but did you fix the problem? I ran in the same issue today, still can't understand the issue(

The issue is that connection is not established. When everything is correct, connection is established practically instantly. In your case that did not happen even after 20000ms. So check your wiring and settings.

The main two issues as PanicMode mentioned is either wiring or settings.

You could try to ping your profinet device from the KRC by minimising HMI and going to CMD prompt, this is just to check that at least you can talk to your device and wiring is good.

If you can ping, then check the profinet settings.

    - Telegram should be same in WoV as well as your device.

    - Profinet name should be same

    - IPs

    - Check the gateways is properly set up.

You should be able to diagnose your device under Diagnostic -> Diagnostic Monitor -> Profinet Device (profinet name of your device)
