4009 OVC alarm 002 Fanuc R-H

    002 indicates that the problem is from the motor of axis 3. We replaced the motor couple times and the alarm comes back. I'm suspecting that is something related with the brake because when I release the deadman switch the axis 3 drops down. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do ?

    Could be multiple things. But if you replaced the motor a few times, the brake should be ok. Does it only fault when in teach, or when at a pounce position in auto? If so, maybe try turning off the break. What does the grease look like, might be a bad gearbox. I'm just guessing, but that is where I'd start. Also, you could check the axis wear/life percentage. Maybe the feedback for an OVC alarm.
