Hello folks,
Does anybody know the reason of this alarm?
Thank you
We replaced the motor from axis 3 (U) and that got rid of the failure.
It is usually the brake in the motor, happens after 20 seconds of no movement, robot turn off the motor and engages the brake.
Easy proof, jog with teach pendant and let go of deadman, you'll see the bad axis droop.
Is it possible to repair the motor brake?
No, and unfortunately there are motor rebuild companies out there but they seem to miss the brake.
You did the right thing.....
There are many good companies that repair Fanuc motors, brake issues are the most common problem.
You need to do some investigation to find one relatively near you. Companies that integrate, repair, or rebuild Fanuc robots or CNC machines can usually give recommendations - having Fanuc motors dependably rebuilt is a normal and vital part of their business.
