Hi!
We have a bunch of robot cells. All LR Mate where two are older R30iA and the rest are R30iB. We have added a piece of hardware in all cells that uses extra Digital outputs from the CRMA58/59 connectors. The connection and functionality works flawlessly in all cells but in one R30iB. In that perticular cell we get an Overcurrent alarm when some of the outputs is turned on.
We have measured, double measured and triple measured without finding any short circuit anywhere. The hardware in the end of the cable has been moved among the different cells and works everywhere but in this problem cell. There is one difference between this cell and the other however. That is that the cell has more equipment connected to more outputs making me think that maybe we have ecxeeded the upper current threshold that the board can handle.
1 idea is to use microrelays in between the CRMA58/59 and the hardware to minimize the current used from all outputs but my question for this thread is...: Can you increase the upper current threshold in the Fanuc system so it can handle more current?
Cheers
