Calculation of minimum distance for laser scanner (ISO 13855): hazard zone = restricted space?

  • Hi,

I know how to calculate the minimum distance for a laser scanner (AOPDDR-2D) according to ISO 13855 for a parallel direction of approach.

The definition of "minimum distance" is as follows:

calculated distance between the safeguard and the hazard zone [...]

My question is: what is considered as "hazard zone" regarding a robot?

According to ISO 10218-2, the restricted space of a robot has to be safeguarded. So if "hazard zone" in the context of ISO 13855 is equal to the restricted space of a robot, the minimum distance for a laser scanner would START at the end of the restricted space, making it huge.

    Is this true?

    Thanks & best regards
