I am working with an IRB 6700 on an IRC5 with a linear axis track- recently I got a notification that the SMB battery voltage was low but didn't get a replacement until after the battery had fully died. I replaced the battery in the bottom of link2 as described in the product manual but I still get a SMB battery backup lost/ need to update rev counters every time on startup. The new battery isn't ABB branded but is identical otherwise - is there something I'm missing?
Thanks for the help!

open Calibration from the main menu, then check the status of the robot
and open it
Check the SMB status, you probably need to load rev data to the SMB
-
If you select update you can load the SMB data from the cabinet
But first you need to check if the data is valid when you check the status

Check the voltage of the battery, and verify correct polarity.

Thanks for the info about the SMB update status- everything seemed to be valid and updated with that. It turns out it was just a polarity swap on the new battery - I could have sworn I checked that when I checked the voltage but maybe because the wire colors were consistent with the ABB one and the connector can only be plugged in one orientation it slipped my mind.
Thanks for the help!
