GM (V)KRC2 vs VW (V)KRC2

    I did try searching for more details in the forum and google as well but wasnt able to find detailed answer.

    So I have a GM (V)KRC2 I'm sure of it because of the relays on the door and the barcode of the now defunct assembly plant on the door which I used to drive by a lot.

    But my question is, how is it different from the VW's (V)KRC2 if any? and maybe some other differences of that and generic KRC2 besides all the known GM customization?

    VKRC2s were VW-only. The only reason most KRC2s have the (V) on the nameplate is because the base cabinets were generally identical hardware, just with different option sets installed.

    GM KRC2s were not "stock", but also were not as customized as VKRC2s. IIRC, the GM models used a different plug (CC1?) in place of X11, and usually had a different safety board with extra signal pairs, compared to a "normal" KRC2. Beyond that, all the changes were at the program level (IIRC).
