Hi,
I'm new to the forum
I want to do 3D reconstruction with my robot to perform object recognition and grasping. I am wondering about which sensor type would be best for my application:
- It's an indoors industrial application with artficial light from the ceiling
- I want to implement an eye-in-hand solution
- The budget is <800$
- The parts are all 3d printed PLA or metallic, with sizes variyig from 2-20cm and the depths from 3-50mm
- All parts must be picked from a wooden table.
With our previously implemented 3d camera system (Intel Realsense 435i), we had major issues with reflections on the parts, which corrupted the depth measurements and also the smallest parts were not detected by the depth camera at all. Therefore I am searching for a more robust 3D camera system for this environment.
Which system would you recommend (e.g. ToF, 3D Stereo camera, structured light)?
Which models would you recommend and why?
