I currently have 1-128K compact flash for the teach pendant, I would like to get another. Can I use something bigger such as 2 gig and if so, do I need any special formatting. I have tried to use some 32K but keep getting error when trying to rea or write.

    Tks

You may want to call Yaskawa but if I remember correctly you can only use 128K on the NX100

Sure you can use bigger. Yaskawa said maximum was 10 Gb, I believe. I use a 1 Gb all the time. I’ve never tried bigger since back when NX was out CF cards that big were very expensive.

I know a thing or two, because I’ve seen a thing or two. Don't even ask about a third thing. I won't know it.

I use a 2GB card regularly without any problem. Have used the same card for 10-11 years, occasionally format it and last time was on Windows 10 as FAT32 and still works just fine with our NX100's.

don't format a CF card in a Windows based computer. The robot does not really work in "FAT" format and will never understand NTFS.

I have used a 1Gb Trascend industrial CF all this time, with a Hama converter (00055348). I format this card on win7 in fat32 and it has always worked with a NX100.

    Even in a Fanuc RJ3 from early/mid 00s

    Good morning,

Let me introduce myself, I am Philippe and I am French

I do not fully master English, please forgive me if I make some mistakes

I work in a high school and I would like to be able to re-commission an NX100
To be able to transmit to students how to use the robot

A student who is no longer at the school stole the compact Flash from us,

I put one of 2 GB formatted in FAT32

    She is well recognized.

On the attached photo order I have icons that sound grayed out and the system does not allow me to do jobs

Can you help me, maybe the firmware needs to be replaced?view?usp=drive_link

Your controller is in Maintenance mode. Did you intentionally boot up in this mode or did it automatically boot up in this mode?

If it automatically did, either the Main Menu button is stuck, rotary switch set wrong on the IF board, or you lost all the user information.

Were there alarms when you booted up? If so, what were they. You may need to load the cmos backup, if you have one, or have the controller reinitialized.

I know a thing or two, because I’ve seen a thing or two. Don't even ask about a third thing. I won't know it.

Hello and thank you for your quick response, and a happy new year to you.

The controller starts directly in this mode without alarm

As stated in my post at the end of last year, a student stole the Compact Flash card

I bought a new one and formatted in FAT32

But I don't have any data

How can I reset the controller?

    Thanks to you

    Philippe

Contact your local Yaskawa office. They will need to come in and initialize the controller for you. Then you can load in your backups if you have them.

Thank you for your answers, I will check with Yaskawa.
And yes it will cost me an arm
And unfortunately we don't know which student stole the Memory card from us.

    Philippe
