Please help. Starting up new YRC1000 Need to know how to set my Allen Bradley PLC Ethernet IP address so the robot will look at it?

  • Starting up new YRC1000 Need to know how to set my Allen Bradley PLC Ethernet IP address so the robot will look at it?

My Robot IP is set to 192.168.0.5

My AB PLC is set to 192.168.0.2

On the studio 5000 side, I have the generic ethernet module setup with the robot IP (192.168.0.5) in it. 8 bytes for inputs and 8 bytes for outputs. Instances all setup as well.

But I do not know where to set the AB PLC IP address in the teach pendant? (I am assuming it is called host ip?)

I am getting this on the AB studio side.....Faulted module

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Woops.....

    FYI for everyone....classic mistake.

I swapped the instances of my Input and Output size.

See in the picture of correct settings!

NOW I AM NOT FAULTED ANYMORE.

So my mistake was in the PLC setup and not the robot side.

    LOL

  • in this communication the PLC is Scanner and YRC1000 become Adapter.

for setting in the robot go to MAINTENACE mode, SYSTEM , SETTUP, OPTION FUNCTION, go to ETHERNET I/P (CPU BOARD).

select DETAIL in front of ETHERNET I/P (CPU BOARD).

select DETAIL in front of ADAPTER in this page ENABLE the ADAPTER and do setting same as your PLC.

For more info about setting, see EtherNet/IP COMMUNICATION FUNCTION.
