is there somewhere within the KUKA robot that a variable gets read.. Im writing a vb6 program that i would like to be able to read information at each position that the robot reaches but I cannot find within the documentation what i might want to use for this nor if an actual target positiion is read..

    does that make any sense?

If it's any use, I can let you have a copy of my VB6 source code (when I get back to work in Jan :biggrins:) for Kuka communication (KRC2 based).

Mookie - please have a look at the attached ZIP file.

I have sent you a private message with the password for the ZIP file.

When you have examined the files, please come back with questions.

    martin,

I have alot of this information allready and maybe i missed the answer, but is there a trigger i can use for logging values when the robot reaches a position. I know i cant actually get the position name the robot has executed.

    heres my objective,

My robot is applying force which at this time is being measured with an analog sensor. The analog sensor right now isnt being used for anything. I would like to use it for some data logging/trending for part quality in the future to create some scientific data that may be used in the future. this would mean at the moment logging

    LIN p1 .02 m/sec $anin[1] = 6.5

so the ultimate question is, is there a way that i can figure out what position the robot reached when i log the data? I dont know the means at this moment.

You could try using an interrupt to run a routine, which writes the position and analogue value to an array. Storing to an array saves excessive communication during movement.

At the end of the movement, change the value of a watched variable and use the VB program to download the array.

Havent tried it, but it should work fine
