    Hello everybody,

I am trying to install ProConOS 4.1 on a KRC4 compact with KSS 8.3.31 via USB.
I followed the ProConOS manual but after the installation, I always get the error:

"Some error occurred!!! For details look at the log file"

When checking the log file it says some sections are missing in D:\KUKA_OPT\PROCONOS 4-1\Internat\KrcUpd\~SP3D4E.tmp

Not sure if that could be the reason or how I could solve it.
If you could give me hint that would be amazing!

    Option=ProConOS 4-1 Version=V4.1.5 Build=14

    KSS V8.3.31

I also tried to ignore the error and continue with adding the ProConOS in WV as mentioned in the manual but this didn´t help.

"I am trying to install ProConOS 4.1 on a KRC4 compact with KSS 8.3.31 via USB."

    how exactly? describe used steps.

    "I followed the ProConOS manual"

what manual is that exactly? what page?

    did you check compatibility?

as far as i can see that version of ProConOS works on newer KSS versions only.

Hi panic mode, thx for the reply!

I did use the attached documentation pdf.

It was in the documentation folder of the proconos install folder

It clearly says to be for KSS 8.3

I copied the proconos install folder on the usb stick. Followed first the installation steps in the pdf and then the wv configuration steps in the pdf

I followed the installation steps as described in 4.2 and then the configuration steps mentioned in 6.2

Did you use a Kuka USB drive?? The manual is warning for failure if not. :face_with_tongue:

    Joking aside:

I would try to copy the installation files to drive D of the robot and do installation from there.

there could be a world of difference between 4.1 and 4.1.5.14

EDIT - just checked, Proconos 4-1 version 4.1 is correct for KSS8.3 and manual you use is correct.

looking at your log, your installer is incomplete. it is missing some files/folders like checksum file for example.

Load your proconos into wov, click on it and check in the bottom right corner the version levels it works with, many tech packs will only work work version =<8.x.x

You can't assume just because it works on 8.3 it will work on all 8.3....

There is another option.. Whenever I pay thousands for a tech pack and have issues, I speak to the people at kuka who sold it to me..

In the tech package you should find a setup.ini.

Here can check for the supported versions

    What I always did:

copy the contents of the in installation disk (usb) to drive D: (Optionsfolder)

compared original with copy (i used md5summer to check the md5 checksum)

    installed from drive D: (Optionsfolder)

Compare the ini file (for setup) with the results given by error file

You got me on the right track:

According to the md5 checksum, everything was fine but when comparing the PROCONOS 4-1\Internat\ folder the KrcSetup folder structure was missing. Copying everything again solved it.

Thank you all so much for your help!
