Hi Guys
Need a bit of help understanding the safety outputs ESPOUT1/ESPOUT2
As far as I'm aware these outputs are volt free contacts that indicate the ESTOP status of the robot controller and are wired in series through the pendant and cabinet EStops
I'll be using these contacts to run a test pulse from the safety controller so that I can include the robot EStop in the machines safety circuit
Measuring the continuity across the contacts 37/38, 39/40 of the cabinets safety connections I see no change when the robot's pendant estop is pressed. The contacts are always closed.
If the pendant is removed then the contacts become open, this seems to be the only thing that changes the state of these contacts at the moment
Has anyone seen this, know of this? I'm assuming that it's not a fault as we have two robots here that are both exhibiting the same behavior.
Is this something that needs to be enabled or modified in the safety ladder?
Apologies for my ignorance this is my first time using a Yaskawa robot
Thanks
