EOAT Design software

  • For those with experience designing a EOAT, what software do you like to use? Right now I am just a programmer with a electrical background but I am interested in broadening my skills. I work in a pretty niche industry so alot of our components needs to be custom designed. I feel like if I can approach a oem with a basic concept, it will decrease the development time of new lines/ideas

  • You can use any available 3D modelling package. Solidworks is probably the most common and what we use for designing EOAT's as standard but there is also AutoDesk inventor and Creo. It all depends on your price range and what your experience is, some are more focused toward experienced designers where others are better suited to beginners. If it is just for broadening your own experience I would start with one of the free options
