Hello,
I have a kawasaki robot (ZX300S F) with (C42F-A001) controller and it was running perfect now i tried to turn it on after few weeks and it displays error on 1Hp board (RED LED) and also on TP there is nothing just backlight is on.
Check:
- Brightness potentiometer fitted to MFP, sometimes makes too dark to see.
- 1HP interface cables are plugged in to the correct slots.
1HP Connections below:
- TB2 = CN1
- Front Panel Buttons = CN2
- 1HY Relay Board = CN3
- MFP = CN4
If all ok:
- it is possible MFP has developed permanent fault and requires repair/replacement.
- it is possible 1HP board has developed permanent fault and requires repair/replacement.
You try to connect Controller to PC via RS232 connection and KCWin and see what information is available during bootup.
This should display some information.
All of the connection are plugged as they were before when robot was working so i dough that problem is in wrong connection.
I will try to get RS232 cable and check for faults. Is it possible to do the same with ethernet cable and KIDE?
All of the connection are plugged as they were before when robot was working so i dough that problem is in wrong connection.
The amount of times I have heard this.
Check them, it only takes 30 seconds and also the teach pendant cable too - I forgot mention this, a disconnection could cause this fault to.
If the controller fails to complete boot up, then the usually the ethernet port is not available.
Always use RS232 to investigate boot up options and yes, RS232 should be available in KIDE Comms.
If not, use KCwin32 or KRTerm.
Okay i will check connectors on monday and let u know.
Intermittent connections may exist, that is why important to confirm not the problem even if ok before.
Checking should be done by complete disconnection and reconnection.
Controller can boot and operate without MFP connected (if set to properly).
So this is why I ask to also check RS232 communication to see if CPU (1GA/1HA) alive.
If alive and no intermittent/broken connections, then problem is either 1HP or MFP.
Spare parts can only be obtained from 2nd hand systems and are rare/expensive/impossible to find.
So if you have access to spare parts (1HP or MFP), easy to just exchange to locate faulty item.
Otherwise may need to find local repair of either item.
Previous I have seen this error majority of time is MFP (internal 1FT board).....but could be 1HP.
Hello
So i tried to reconnect all the connections and it havent made any difrence.
Also when i was trying to connect with RS232 i pulled out the 1GA/1HA and i didnt put it all the way back in then the error on 1hp board was gone. So if there is no 1GA/1HA board connected there is no error on 1HP board. Do u think that is normal or does that mean 1GA/1HA is bad and needs replacement.
When i tried to connect to robot with RS232 it said error connecting.
Also when i was trying to connect with RS232 i pulled out the 1GA/1HA and i didnt put it all the way back in then the error on 1hp board was gone.
Why would you even go near the 1GA/1HA board, the RS232 connection is usually mounted on the front of the Controller Cabinet Door............
So what happens when the boards and cables are connected correctly.
You use a null modem cable or cable with connections 2-3, 3-2 and 5-5.
You connect via the RS232 port on the front of the controller.
You use the KCwin32 program and connection guide found here:
Because i only had male connector and on the door is male also so i plugged it direcly to 1GA/1HA board.
Okay i will make a cable now and try with ur procedure.
When you have done that:
- Send screenshot of results.
- Power off controller, remove MFP (disconnect from front door).
- Power on controller and use RS232 again and provide screenshot of results.
So i tried to connect but i cant get it connect only cursor is flashing. And i cant type anything in.
A flashing cursor usually means connected - just press return, you should see a command prompt.
Check the top bar header bar of KCWin32, this will say if it's connected or not.
Can you provide some screenshots?
During bootup, it should display some messages?
This is what i get. i dont know if this is connected or not. Return does not open comand prompt. When booting up nothing changes
So what happens if you power off, disconnect the MFP and power back on again?
Have you also tried a different baud rate in KCWin settings - like 38400
I tried that and there is no difference.
No i can try that now.
You sure all the boards are correctly located?
Can you take picture of inside of Controller after power on?
I also tried with KCWin both baud rates and there is no difference.
