Remote/Local setup

    On the system/config screen, there are 4 options under Remote/Local setup - Remote, Local, External I/O, and OP panel key. I understand remote and local, but can't find any information on how External I/O and OP panel key work. Can anybody either explain them or tell me what manual I should be looking in?

    What is the difference between Local and OP panel key?

    OP panel key sets it so that you can switch between remote and local just by switching the key on the panel. Most of my robots are set this way.

    AHHH! That makes sense, except that they haven't used an op panel key since the RJ3 days. I guess that's Fanuc for you.

    Do you have any BG Logic running? Is there a cold or hot start autoexec program?

    Create you own program (no motion) with the line $REMOTE_CFG.$REMOTE_TYPE = 2

    and then, do one of the two things:

    1. Run it in BG

    2. Run it in cold and hot start as R47 wrote.

    As I wrote above:

    1. Create the new program (no motion) eg. TEST with the line you need.

    2. MENU -> 6 SETUP -> BG Logic -> ENTER

    3. Choose you program TEST, then F2 RUN.

    That's all.

    Is there also a way to see how the robot is set? UOP Local or remote?
    So i can send that to the PLC
