Fanuc Rj2 internal PLC

  • It is an option, but it isn't like ABB multitasking (this is not standard, but also an option) or Kuka submit, but a software PLC with ladder programming.

May be the RJ2 already has background logic?

  • Multitasking with the Run command comes standard on RJ2. You could start a program with an infinite loop that way, but it must initially be started by another program, so not completely independent. Fanuc also has what is called an auto execute program set in the system config menu. I cannot recall if that is available in RJ2.

It may be simplest to just add a PLC. You could get a cheap PLC with onboard IO for less cost than a robot software option.

  • "They did not have BG Logic until Rj3iA or iB. What you may be seeing is possibly a condition monitor or a connect IO."

This was the answer I received for a similar question in this forum a couple of years ago.
