In a wild ride of desperation we are trying to replicate the Alema computer.

If we can get the ethernet to work.

Reminder, this was turned off for many years. We have updated the little battery on the motherboard.

    No lights are on.

We kicked this beast into life. It's of the hobby Arduino CNC mill.

Chris and I live about an hour apart so getting time on this is tricky.

The issue is the ethernet port does not light up. I haven't worked on this stuff for years so I'm guessing we need to configure the port and that might be a bios change.

Note, ignore ip address on PC as we were trying various addresses we found in .ini files before it dawned on me the lights on the ethernet port were out.

    Thanks heaps, Dave

Chris, we need to try this.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/…2b-72bcda0311d1

    Code
If you feel that it's caused by a corrupted or wonky TCP/IP stack, resetting that is simple: Open an Elevated command prompt, and run the following command: netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt Reboot when it's done processing.

There were some versions of krc2 that only activated the port if at boot time an active switch or other computer was connected to the port.

And there are some krc2 were the driver for the port wasn't installed, this shouldn't be the fact at this one, because they had this almea thing installed.

You should have a look into the network configuration of the robot. If there is network card from SMC.

    Chris,

BIOS - how to do get it back to "Kuka normal". (The battery went flat while in storage )

We read this thread a few days ago and it looks like the info we need.

    KRC2 Fujitsu Siemens D1688-K32 GS1 motherboard manual

    Re read page 36

    https://www.robot-forum.com/attachment/246…10-1081090-pdf/

We need to clarify the function of the " Power On/Off "

Chris please read this thread and post from Panic Mode.

    Re: KRC2 Ed05 BIOS Configuration

Gavin is coming over Thursday night to help. Fire up the BBQ.

Any other suggestions, hints or tips welcome as we are flying blind.

    Dave

Shout out and thanks to these guys for the information. panic mode  Kristof K  hermann

If you guys come to Australia, come over and join the BBQ. No one has COVID, the beer is cold and the BBQ is hot. Remind us to take some photos.

    Chris,

Gavin suggested we load a different BIOS to see if the port comes alive.

    phoenixbios version 4.06 rev 1.05-08.1688.01

Don't load this but i just will leave it here for reference. I need to dig deeper.

We need to secure the BIOS version you are currently running. I am unsure how to do that.

You don't need a new bios.

Just try to switch the controller on with a network connected to the port and a running computer. And have a look into the network configuration under windows of the robot, if the SMC card is installed, if not, normally there exist drivers on drive D:.

    Hi Chris,

I've been looking for some solution and I found this information:

    Image_2021-04-09_12-00-05.png

Let me know if it's useful information, otherwise, we can try to find something else.
