    Hi,

Recently I buy a second hand staubli rx160 with a CS8C controller. My surprise comes when I start the controller. When I press the select mode button I have that message "Working mode button has no effect". I guess the old owners would have this option disabled.

Can someone tell me how to change this.

    Thank you.

    Hi danielaguayo,

you have to use the WMS (Working Mode Selector) box to change the working mode.

The difference between theory and practice is greater in practice than in theory.

I have already seen that WMS is used for that, but I don't have it. Is there a way to bypass the WMS to select the working mode from the MPC?

You would need a runtime licence called "mcpMode". Stäubli can generate the key with the mac address and the serial number of the controller.

Otherwise you could make your own WMS:

    • J113-1 WMSES1+
    • J113-2 WMSES1-
    • J113-3 COMPL
    • J113-4 NC
    • J113-5 24V
    • J113-6 WMSES2+
    • J113-7 WMSES2-
    • J113-8 COMPR
    • J113-9 MANUS
    • J113-10 0V (only for LEDs on the WMS-box)

Bridge 1-2 and 6-7 (Would be for the emergency stop on the WMS-box)

Connect 5 to either 3, 8 or 9 depending on which mode you want to use.

The difference between theory and practice is greater in practice than in theory.
