We have S4C+ M2000 with IRB 640 the message (startup in progress) and keeps counting.
Cleaned the plug and socket on the pendant.
The red light on the CPU board is flashing.

The counting startup message on the TP is generated by the TP and shows the TP is waiting for the CPU to communicate with it.
Red blinking LED on CPU shows the CPU has errored during boot.
Sometimes I reseat all the connectors and boards in the computer unit and then it will boot.

Check your flash card ,check it with new one ,
As skooter has explained you have lost commination that has been lost from CPU board to Teach pendent .

Sometimes It occur with two robots where I work. In this case I restore a validated image backup in the memory card and it works again.
In this case, I believe that could be a file corrupted or a memory card fault.

If cpu in error try remove cpu battery 2032 (offline)and reconnect after 20 sec.and then start power supply.it will get hard reset ,may be it resolve your problem.

You have to remove battery when power is off, because u have to remove cpu from panel for remove battery
