kawasaki js 010 controller a87 no power on the motors

Second hand robots are very risky as parts availability is very difficult.

Any errors relating to servo errors will usually result in not being able to turn motor power on.

I have some questions first.

1. Did you see this robot running before purchasing?

2. Did you receive any documentation or Floppy discs when you purchased?

3. What told you to adjust dip switch 6 and 8 and which switchbank on which board did you change?

4. Can you provide image of controller inside card rack layout?

5. Is possible you can access main screen and make file save?

1. Not seeing it running is risky, I hope you paid less money because of this.

3. Ok.....so you have basically carried out a reinitialization.

4. Controller appears ok, could you make sure all connections are secured, also can you check voltages available on 9ZA test pins are correct values.

5. Yes, do you also have access for other functions too?

- I mean, does it appear that you can freely enter commands and select different functions.

- Can you try and obtain floppy and carry out file save and then post file here? - You will need to change file extension to .txt to attach.

6. Can you provide image of LEDS on 9ZA, 1GE and also picture of display during error.

7. Can you access keyboard function and type in commands, if so can you type in ZID and provide picture of display result.

I suspect, maybe you have failed 1AE/1GE or require servo software, but if you can answer above, we will see next step.

1. I am not sure about 24V power supply you show, it looks as though it is working, from input wires, but no output wires from it.

- Can you confirm if there is wires connected to output of power supply?

2. I think Servo software maybe required, this requires floppy to load in.

- I have software and procedure I can send, but you need floppy in order to carry out.

1. Could you type in WHERE

Yes, I think cannot read or data is lost for Servo firmware.

This needs reloading I think.

You will need a floppy disc for this, but before you carry out procedure, make file save first just in case.

Attached is software to load and procedure.

You need to transfer .SV0 file to floppy and then follow procedure to load in.

This may fix it, but as you have second hand robot, there could be other troubles too.

Are you just trying to load in the file, without following the procedure?

Yes, if you have another 1GE then yes.

Just make sure you set dipswitches and swap over 1GM board too (small card mounted to 1GE),

I don't think so...….but I'm going from memory going back >15 years.....

You do have the dipswitches set in the procedure correct?

Its as though either it can't read the data off the floppy, or cannot write it to the 1GE
