I have a question about storing data/registers inside the robot and pulling them back into the program as needed. We a pretty simple pick and place operation, but we have over 100 parts we may run over a course of time. Currently, the set up technicians move the robot to the necessary positions for a given job and record those points. They also have a few registers they set like vacuum time, stack height, denest, etc. I want to have the ability to let them store those positions and registers permanently after they initially set up a job. That way we are building a database of the jobs as they run and when the job comes up again it can be quickly loaded. I want your guys opinions on what would be the best way to do this. I have a couple general ideas, but I want to see if there is a way that has worked well for someone else that I'm not thinking of.
