Fan Unit

  • Hello,

I was looking for clarificaion on something. We have many m10 robots with a few generations of controllers. (r30ia/r30ib/r30ib plus.) With one of our somewhat newer robots, a large amount of dust is collecting inside the controller cabinet. The fan unit seems to be in working order though. Do their fan units have filters in them? I know the air is vented through a chamber to the top and bottom to spread flow, but I'm wondering if there is a filter in there. We do get some dust on all of the controllers, but this one specifically has copious amounts. Any workarounds you guys recommend or any ideas that might help?

    Thanks,

    D

  • If the door is properly latched, and the cables entering the controller are properly cinched by the foam retainer, you should not have any dust ingress into the controller. The fan unit is a heat exchanger that uses back to back heat sinks with fan to transfer heat from the inside of the controller to the outside, without actually exchanging any air.

It sounds like your dusty controllers are not properly sealed.
