Kawasaki KF262 with C55 lost backup

  • Hello eveybody.

    - I have a KF262 robot with a C55 controller.

    - I don't have a backup and MFP is missing connector at position X1.

    - I am using KWin32 connected with RS232 port.

I searched for documents of C55 controller but could not find

    Hope everybody help please.

    Thanks you very much.

Changed the title of the thread from “Kawasaki KF262 with C55 lost back and” to “Kawasaki KF262 with C55 lost backup”.
  • That is me, not quite understanding your post and deciding to leave...…..nothing to do with bad English, so no need to apologize as your post requires further information.

You say you have a robot and controller, but no MFP.

Usually you can have MFP for Explosion proof or non explosion proof, so I cannot understand why neither is connected.

Is this a current system in production?

    - If system is in production, then why is MFP not available?

    - What are you intending to do with robot without MFP?

    If not in production?

    - What is robot purpose then?

    - Is possible other items are missing too?

    - Is all hardware and cables all connected correctly?

    You have screenshot of KCWin?

    - Displays robot arm serial no as no. 1, which suggests someone has cleared memory or/and memory battery has exhausted.

    - Displays error message relating to RIO board not installed when it should be

    - Displays error message that could be connected with battery exhaustion or possible hardware error.

Displayed messages suggest to me system may not be complete and also other works have already been carried out on it, therefore could be difficult to get up and running again, especially as no MFP available.

  • Hi kwakisaki.

    Thanks for reply.

    - I have solved my MFP problem.

    - My robot has no backup data.

    - I have created dummy file from KROSET V1.8. But when the file loads complete, it will get the error -1903.

Can you help me resolve this error?

    Thanks you very much.

  • This could simply be a mismatch with the robot model used in KROSET and the internal servo software.

By uploading the file, you will have changed the robot model to that of KROSET and removed the model that was currently set.

On the Robot itself, there should be a rating plate with a revision.

Go online with KCWin and at the command prompt type in:

    ZROBOT

Then go through the process of selecting the correct Robot Model and revision.

    - There are a couple of revisions under the KF262 model, so try them all.

    - Hopefully you will get lucky and be able clear the error that way.

  • Hi Sir.

    - I have tried both model 41 (KF262-A001) and 42 (KF262-B001) with 6 Axis, but alway received errors (E-1903).
    - I found the label of the robot, and see inside the electrical cabinet has 9 brake buttons.
and also tried to run ZROBOT again with 7,8,9 Axis, but alway got error: E-1250 (Servo board C03 initialization error)
    .

    What should i do, please?

    Thanks you.

  • I think this is going to be difficult to resolve without original configuration and backup data.

I think firmware is required, which I do not have, so you will need to contact Kawasaki for this.

Also Without knowing the hardware configuration, I also think may be difficult as from picture it appears axis 7 and axis 9 have encoder barrier module fitted, which suggests there is additional motors/encoders that should be connected to, without these, then the system could only be used as 6 axis.

Which returns to question of firmware being uploaded.

I shall have a look for further information, but at this point I think you should contact Kawasaki with the 'label' details referencing the W/O number.

  • Hmmmmm…….

Those sheets do in fact contain the setup configuration as originally supplied.

The KROSET dummy file you prepared and loaded would have contained the majority of those settings - but not all of them and not specific to the hardware configuration of your system.

It is possible you could go through the task of manually entering those values using the MFP.

On the sheets, the left hand side no. relates to the Aux Function No for the settings.

Some of the Aux Function are not accessible unless you are in maintenance mode.

To go into Maintenance mode, you need to goto Aux Function 199 and enter 9894 as the access code.

(However, when rebooting the controller or exiting the Aux Functions you would need to keep re-entering this).

When you have access, you could go through the Aux functions and manually input those values from the sheets and see what happens.

I draw your attention to your 2nd image though referencing 900:

This is the ZROBOT and I can see from the sheets, your robot model setting is 17, 41 with 7 axis and serial no. 17.

These values should work for the ZROBOT setting, but you said you tried this, this is why I suspect firmware needs loading.

Could you post an image of the inside of the cabinet from the front with the door open?

  • Tomorrow, I'll try manual input and will tell you.
My Document is missing page 2/7 and 3/7. I wonder what those 2 pages have?

When using ZROBOT with 7 axis, it will receive E-1250 error, after reboot it will receive E-1261.
and this is the picture inside the electrical cabinet.

  • Many thanks for the images.

Yes, those errors relate specifically to servo parameters......I think this could be normal possibility.

Could you take picture of full -1250 error code and -1261 error code, there is always other text along with displayed error?

  • Model current is: KF262-A001(17-41) 7 Axis, serial: 17.

When i using ZROBOT with 6 axis for all model,

I alway receive error 1903 (As or servo software is not compatible with the Robot model).

    Thanks You.

  • I think this is normal now, however something is still incorrect or missing.

    See attached image.

Circled is a metal cover, can you power off, remove cover and take picture of this board.

Also can you check ALL connections to this board are OK and secured.

Do you know the previous condition of this system, ie was it seen working?

    - I think 1GB board (board under this cover maybe faulty)

  • Tomorow ,I will check it.

and i have a cabinet with Robot FS45 with C32 controller, look the similar.

I wonder if it can be replaced if the other one is broken.

    Thanks you.

  • 1GB is Servo Control board and contains 3 CPU's.

CPU A is for Joints 1-3

    CPU B is for joints 4 - 6

CPU C is for external axes

The error code is relating to CPU C.

CPU condition has led's associated with it and I think CPU C will be displaying error condition.

I think CPU C is enabled, but you have no 7th axis data loaded, and I think this is what is generating error.

Is this system that you have just Robot and Controller ie a 6 motors in total?

  • I think CPU C is enabled, but you have no 7th axis data loaded, and I think this is what is generating error.

Yes. that 's right. i have 6 axis total.

I bought robots from other people, and didn't know exactly if there was an external shaft.

I have another motor, if I have a wiring diagram, I can connect that motor.

Or How to disable external axis (7 axis).

Currently I do not have the manual of the C55 controller.

    Do you have its documentation?

    Thanks you.
