Connect external emergency stop through IO (CRMA52A)

  • Hello,

I'm trying to connect an external emergency stop through the IO of the CRMA52A in a Fanuc R30-iB Mate with a CR-7iA/L. Is it possible to send a signal at I121, which then acts the same as like an emergency event? I know that it is possible with EES 1, 11, 2 and 21. But I would like to have only one cable outside with all IO, then to have an extra cable for emergency stop wiring. Is this possible with hardware changes? Or even with only software changes?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Yeah, that is not possible, at least not at a safety level. Could you have a pigtail that comes out of the CRMA52A connector and lands at the ES inputs?

The other option would be to modify the harness that connects internally to the CRMA52A port, but I doubt you would keep your warranty if you did that.
