Good morning everyone, if you missed the title, im new to the world of robots. My boss just purchased a R-2000iB 210F used. best i can tell the robot seems to be an early 2007 model. it looks as though it was a welding robot in its past life, and came with some sort of welder/cooling unit mounted along side the control unit. ive ran power to the machine, and started everything up and so far everything seems normal (according to what ive read online) except for one thing: the teach pendant is telling me i have faults. the first one that it lists is the control panel e-stop, i cannot get this fault to go away. i have tested the e-stop switch, as well as the reset switch, and both are functioning as they should. im assuming there was another peice of equipment tied to this robot/controller that also had an e-stop button, and with it being missing the circuit isnt complete? can anyone shed some light on this situation? or offer really any help to a first timer/self taught cnc operator?
first timer... used robot....

What srvo number is the fault?
Open up the alarm screen and see if there are other faults listed.
If there was another estop wired into the controller it would be getting an "External E-stop" fault.
-
srvo-001 is what the pendant is saying
how do i access the faults list? (sorry, i literally just recieved the robot yesterday..)
-
MENU, ALARMS
-
sorry, should have looked before i asked.
SRVO-001 PANEL E-STOP
SRVO-007 EXTERNAL E-STOP
SRVO-280 SVOFF INPUT
SRVO-213 PANEL FUSE BLOWN
SRVO-006 HAND BROKEN
any help would be appreciated, we just want to be able to manipulate the robot a bit to make sure the servos and drives are good before we invest into the machine any further.

I would start by checking fuses. It sounds like the e-stop board does not have power. If you do not have a hand broken switch on your tooling, you can disable the hand broken signal under MENU>NEXT>SYSTEM>CONFIG: Hand Broken.
-
Replace the blown fuse then let us know what faults remain.
Also please identify which controller you have, then we can maybe point you to the fuses quicker that will need checked.
Should be fuse 2 on the emergency stop board I believe.

Have you checked the physical conditions of the e stops in question?
The one on the panel need to be twisted to be released. the external need to be manually pulled up
to be released. I have had to drive back to work after my shift to find out that one or both of these were not released after A barrel of wire was changed. I now ask for faults when I get these calls.
The hand broken could be the torch being rotated out of the correct position.
there is A green light on the cable that lights up when it is rotated into the right position.
These are just things that I look for first now, as I have spent lots of time in the past not knowing where to start with trouble shooting.

Check to make sure the jumpers are in on the E-stop board
-
ok,
ive got the robot moving. had to trick it into thinking it was inside of its "safety zone", also turned off the "hand broken" in the system.
thanks everyone for the replies, next i need to properly disable the safety fence and set up my own.
then purchase some sort of gripper hand, and learn how to program the thing lol!
thanks again!

i had to place my own jumpers, this is what cleared all of the alarms

the fuses, as well as the physical function of the e-stop and reset buttons were all checked and found to be good.

Jesse - What version and type of software are you running - there are some tricks for programming. Also, you can disable UOPS temporarily if you need to.

Not exactly sure at the moment, i had to step away from that job momentarily and do some machining, will be back onto it soon i hope, and will touch base at that time. thanks for the reply!
