We are looking at integrating a used R2000ib and r30ia controller, into a Compactlogix system. Most of the machines in our plant primarily communicate through Ethernet, but unfortunately the robots we have available to us only have the devicenet option installed.
How difficult is the setup on the fanuc side? Do I definitely need the documentation to figure this out? I'm looking to initially send commands to run specific programs, but also eventually send positional offsets from a cognex vision system. I"m comfortable configuring the AB side of things, but I don't want to buy the robot only to find I can't get it talking to the PLC.
If anyone could provide examples of the setup, I would greatly appreciate it. There seem to be plenty of examples of ethernet/ip setup, but little about devicenet, I'm specifically hoping to see what the setup looks like in rslogix and on the TP, and any settings that need to be enabled. Thanks for your time.
