Hi Everyone,
Forgive me if I've posted in the wrong place, I'm not sure which category this would go in to.
I'm studying music technology and for our final performance this year I wanted to do something with a turtle bot (or roamer as I used to know them)
My idea is quite simple. The turtle bot will be placed in an enclosed circuit created from wood or rope. This circuit runs around a loudspeaker. The turtle bot will have a microphone mounted to it so when it passes the speaker it creates feedback. This is then processed by the performers to create sound. Eventually more weight is added to slow the turtle bot down further until it creates long drones as it circles the loudspeaker.
There are 5 speakers in all each producing a different sound due to processing.
All I was looking to find out is what would be best suited to this task.
The main 4 points I'm looking for are:
* Low cost (I'm a student so I'm pretty broke)
* Low noise so the microphone doesn't pick much up.
* Enough power to carry the load of a microphone (probably Shure SM57/58) and ideally a surface where additional weight can be added.
* Intuitive - ideally with sensors so it doesn't just run into the side of the enclosure.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for your help in advance
