Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to industrial robot programming. My costumer bought used KR150/L110 with KRC2.
I want to control it using Siemens PLC (preferably S7-1200); robot will work from cell in External mode, and it should read program number from PLC, and start executing it after recieving EXT_START. But, there is just MFC inside cabinet; no communication boards, altough there are, among others, PROFISL (profibus slave) and PROFIMA (profibus master) drivers, that are mapped (obiviously reseller is selling it separately).
Current plan is to tell my costumer to contact his reseller and buy profibus card CP 5613/14, so I can make simple control using S7-1200 (I've read that Siemens offers costumized mxAutomation block library that can be used for robot control, and it works on S7-1500, but I don't want to make this simple project complicated uneccessarly).
I wrote all of this to ask you, kindly, about your opinion. Am I going in the right direction, or you can suppose me a better suggestion?
Also, after reading a lot of subjects on this forum, I couldn't find satisfying answer, so I'm interested what is RJ-45 port on MFC used for?, e.g. is it possible to access IO space of robot (Automatic external IO) using it; should I have EthernetIP driver on robot?; is it possible to make PC-robot connection using that port?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards!
