TouchSense Programming_ Debur application.

  • Does anyone have experience with the Kuka Touch Sense software & programming.

Working on an Automation Project with Kuka KRC2 Robot KR 210-F 2000.

Note: Touch Sense is not used in this application for Welding.

Using a Keyence laser for coordinates & grinding the Gates off a Aluminum casting with the measurement from the laser.

  • So, you want to use the laser sensor in place of the welding wire for TouchSense?

That should be workable. But IIRC, TS uses the Fast Measurement inputs (located on the RDC card in KRC2-era robots), so you'll need to wire your sensor to one of those. TS shouldn't be able to tell the difference, an input is an input.

Aside from that, you'll have to set up your motions to emulate the wire-touching that TS normally uses, but modified so the laser triggers on the edge(s). And depending on the laser sensor you're using, it may require tuning to ensure it triggers on the correct height&material, not (for example) a shiny spot on the support structure.
