We have 3 robots that were powered down and when brought back up needed the encoders reset (all 3 axis) . The batteries were all dead and we replaced them then went through the reset procedure of shorting the RE1 & 2 pins then cycled power to the controller. When it came up it was showing to reset some but not all the encoders again. We have done this multiple times with the same results. We tried to do it as a motor replacement and still the same results. Not sure where to go from here. Any experts that could lend their knowledge to help me out please?

Panasonic Batteries have a short shelf life, I would ensure the new batteries are good. Then try to reset the encoders again.
I usually have the teach pendant with me when I short out the two probes, and when it is satisfied, the axis disappears from the teach pendant.

make sure you are resetting the correct jumper. When rebuilding our robots we discovered there are TWO encoder plugs and TWO backup battery plugs on the encoder board. Thus there are also TWO reset jumpers. make sure you are jumping the designated terminal.
