S4C+ Critical errors

  • Hi all,

I’m having issues with two S4C+ 6650 that we have. The errors are:

Error 38665 Motor/Cables for joint 4 have a short circuit

Error 38664 An intermittent short circuit was detected in motor/cable for joint 4

    other robot:

Error 38600 incoming voltage to DC-link too low to DC link A2 in cabinet 1 single phase missing.

if any one can provide any assistance with these error, that would be great.

Every time these errors occur, the tech must stop production, enter the cell and manually clear the error. While we are trying to fix the issues, can anyone tell me how to set up a remote acknowledge error for critical errors such as these so that the operator does not need to enter the cell?

    Many thanks

  • The operator clicks acknowledge on the teach pendant to clear the error. Sometimes they have to acknowledge the error several times before the robot will start again.
The controllers have been installed in the cell since day one and it’s not easy to move.

Is there a way to clear the critical errors remotely in the same way as the ackErrors system input?
More importantly, has anyone got any information on the errors?
    many thanks.

  • Had the 38600 and on rare occasion it would also give the 38644. Traced it down to a breakdown under voltage of the insulation of a motor wire in the controller-to-robot motor power cable. Found it with a megger (insulation tester) set at 500V by disconnecting the motor power cable from both ends and checked each wire to the cable shield wire / connector shell. After finding which wire, took the connector shell off and found that wire was too short and pulled tight on a sharp edge that was cutting in to the wire enough to breakdown under high voltage of motor power but checked fine with the very low voltage of an ohm meter.

  • Hello.... was this problem solved?

I am having the following error:

Error 38665 Motors/Cables for Joint irb_1 have a short circuit .Maybe caused by a faulty motor/cable or a contamination in contactors for cables or motor windings.

    Please help. Thanks!

  • Thanks!

We were able to solve the earlier error

"Error 38665 Motors/Cables for Joint irb_1 have a short circuit ".Maybe caused by a faulty motor/cable or a contamination in contactors for cables or motor windings"

by fixing a cable that was broken. However,

Its giving us a new error now: Error 37052: A voltage level measured on the main computer is outside of the tolerance.

    Measured: 3.3 V

    Expected: 3.0 V

It had briefly given the same error earlier as well but then it had dissapeared.

Has anyone encountered this error? and how to solve it?

    Thanks!
