Fanuc spot tool vs handling tool vs arc mate

    Hello

    I am curious what the main differences are between handling tool, spot tool, and arc tool. for example: can I use a robot running spot tool the same as one running handling tool? or is it completely different?

    I only have experience using handling tool, so I have no idea how the others are. I am mostly interested in robots with R30ia controllers.

    Spottool adds functionality for spot welding. Spottool+ has Spot welding and Sealant Dispensing functions. Anyway, you can still use them the same as handling tool, just ignore the other functions. The basic programming functionality is the same. However, I have noticed there are some software options that are not compatible with Spottool and it tends to be updated at a slower pace then handling tool.

    If I was buying a new robot and didn't need welding or Dispensing functions then I would stay with handling tool. For a used robot application it would be ok.

    OK, and what about "LR Handling" and "Handling"... one difference I saw is that the LR does have SPI on the emergnecy Board and Handling has 8 SPI on the emergency board (I just look in Roboguide... for the M-710iC/45M... and compare the 2 software). I'm surprise that the "software" has something to do with the "hardware".

    Do I miss something?

    So after I saw that, I just asking if there is other difference between them.
