Hi! I need to receive data (real format) from a PLC over the EtherCat BUS. I've already configured the COMAU Robot as an EtherCat Device 64+64 bytes I/O. To map this signal do I need to use a flex ($FMI) signal? It is possible to receive signed floating point values? That is not clear from the manual. I've only tried to view this signal throught the desktop-display-ports-$FMI but no signed and floating value can be represented in there...
I/O MAP of 32 bits Input signal

Hi.. when i doing communication between robot and welder Lorch via profibus and i need info about voltage for example 24.5 V, welder sends fmi value 245 and i must convert to real value and devide it by 10

I see... then the data received are always integers (signed). To devide the value do you use a non hold program that make this operation cyclically?

yes ... im creating whole program like smartarc for control Lorch welding machines because comau with their smartarc have very bad support for Lorch.. yet we testing seamtrack function and we have some possitive results..
