Anyone who has experience on Master Fixture calibration?

  • Hi everyone,

Just wondered if someone in here has experience on how to calibrate a Fanuc 200iC robot with a Master Fixture? Or how to calibrate any robot in general with a Master Fixture?

The thing is that I got a manual in the box when I bought the Master Calibration fixture (For a 200iC robot), and I always do every step very carefully and precisely. But somehow the calibration doesn't get good at all. All the dial guages get to 0 at 3mm EXCEPT dial guage No.3? It can be really close to 0 at 3mm, but it isn't completly 0 at 3mm. And I don't really know know what I'm doing wrong either, right now I just feel that the manual is obsolete or that some info or step is missing in the manual. I've tried to move J1 so dial guage No.3 get to 0 at 3mm, but then I mess upp all of the clocks and I have to redo everything.

It's one step in the manual that makes me confused. "Set the corresponding value of dial guages No.4 and No.5 and move the J1-axis and the J4-axis so that the dial guage No.3 may show 3.00mm. When the value of dial gauge No.1 and No.2 deviates, modify to make a correspond."

May show 3mm? What do they mean? If I don't get it as close as possibly at 3mm at this step, it never will get good in following steps. And should I move J1 and J4 AFTER No.4 and No.5 id done or should I move J1 and J4 WHILE I'm adjusting dial guages No.4 and No.5?

Anyone who has an explanation what I'm doing wrong here? Or someone who has any advice? Thanks in advance :help:

  • Is very uncommon to use the fixture, because you need to disassemble the gripper in most robots.
Do you tried to contact Fanuc support?

A long ago a try to buy that, but they didn't recommend me to buy it because of my application.
