I would like to use a Siemens Profinet DIO node out on the robot, to control both inputs and outputs. via XPN3 (profinet)
But how do I figure this out in Work Visual? is it even possible?
can i use a Siemens Profinet DIO Nod to myc KRC4?

First add PROFINET Controller in your WV Project. Then use gsdml file for the module you want to control and add to Profinet structure.

Thanks for replay!
i think it are this way.
Our controller is supplied with a profinet device which means that it can be connected as a slave (device) for example to a PLC.
This means that if you want to place a profinet node on the arm, you can connect it to a PLC and mediate signals between the robot and the IO node with it.I have download the GSDML file for the Profinet node but then i try to add it to DTM library i will not show up.

If the robot is acting as a PN Slave, then there is no need (or point) to install the GSDML file onto the robot -- the PLC cannot "mediate" PN between the node and the robot. The only way for the robot and Node to communicate will be if the PLC program includes code to "copy" robot signals to the Node, and vice versa.
The only other option would be to have the robot act as a PN Master (which may require a different KUKA Option package than what you have), and have the robot connect to the Node directly.
