So the battery on my iiwa is dead, and i'm wondering what impact it have?
I know that the battery acts like a ups system, and saves some stuff and does a system shutdown when it detects power loss.
Just wondering if I can manually invoke this shutdown process through a program? (ie shut I power it down, i run the program so it does a system shutdown that mimics a standard shutdown procedure)
What happens during shutdown? [battery dead]

I don't know if you can do it via a Robot program.
The Alternative is to use Windows "Remote Desktop Connection" on your PC to connect to the IIWA, "WIN+D" to minimize the SmartPad UI, double click the "ShutDown" shortcut in the Robot's Windows7 Desktop.
Do you know the use name and password to log in to the robot, already? -
...use Windows "Remote Desktop Connection" on your PC to connect to the IIWA.....
Do you know the use name and password to log in to the robot, already?Yes I know the username and password to log into the robot, and I've tried Remote Desktop Connection (RDC).
But RDC seems to conflict with the smartPAD, after establishing a connection, it'll disconnect after a few second, but if I disconnect the smartPAD, there's no problems. While using RDC is a solution, it's not very elegant, always requiring another laptop and disconnecting the smartPAD.
My main concern is that a proper shutdown is more than just a windows shutdown, like maybe the HMI program receives command to save tasks/file/configuration?

I never had this problem. Once I'm connected via RDC I'm in.QuoteMy main concern is that a proper shutdown is more than just a windows shutdown, like maybe the HMI program receives command to save tasks/file/configuration?
I'm not sure what it does under the hood, but I've done this hundreds of time and never had an issue. Just make sure to stop the robot or any program that's running. -
i am not sure i understand....
IIWA has no batteries but there are two types of batteries in the controller. which one you are referring to and - why wot replace dead batteries?
