Increased acceleration robot Kuka 130%

  • Hello guys!

I need to increase the acceleration of a kuka robot KRC4 to 130%.

I was able in the REGISTRY EDITOR to allow at each point to increase the acceleration to 130%.

When I run some point with acceleration greater than 100%, the message "Value assignment not allowed" appears.

Can anyone help me with this?

    Thank you!

  • i was unaware that registry editor can alter KRL code.

100% is... well... 100%. there is nothing beyond 100%. never was, never will be - if your system is designed correctly in the first place. and KUKA is a pretty solid product...

you can maximize acceleration by settling up correct loads. payload and supplementary load for A3 are topically maxed out from factory so if your payloads are lower, make sure robot knows about that.

  • Hi Robot_Machine,

    "Value assignment not allowed"

This means exactly what you read: You cannot assign an acceleration value that is not between 1 and 100%.

Usually if you're having to increase your acceleration to such a value, there's something wrong with your load, your paths, etc. This is like asking the robot to reach a point that is outside of it's work envelope, you need to make other changes.

  • Sorry folks, I do not want to cause discussion on the subject.

I am aware of all the risks that this change may cause.

I know that this change is possible, but I still have not figured out how. Can anybody help me?

My intention with increasing acceleration is to gain speed in the robot. Anyone have any suggestions for another alternative to increase the speed of the kuka robot?

really? then why are you posting about it - in a FORUM?

So why are you still talking about it? You are contradicting yourself.

You say you KNOW this is possible ... based on what?

I want to discuss how to do it!
So far I've seen comments saying not to do this.
    I'm aware of the risks.

I've personally seen a steal running much faster with increased acceleration. but I did not have the opportunity to know who was responsible for this terrain or even the data of the altered robot.

  • Robot_Stud,

A big part of figuring out how to increase the speed of your robot has to do with the application you use it with, but you haven't given us many details about that.

For example, in glue application, there's way to get high constant speeds, make the corners faster, etc. Are the motions for your robot with an external axis? Is the robot turning a lot? Is it carrying a heavy load while it moves? Are these short movements, or long extended movements?

Most likely, you're going to receive a lot of responses telling you to optimize the path of the robot, because increasing the speed at which it moves will also increase the wear on the robot. The bulk of the "speed increase" ideas should come from having clean, optimized paths where the robot works how it's meant to.

This is still a contradition, either you do or do not want to discuss it.

So far I've seen comments saying not to do this.

No... Clearly you are misreading responses about setting acceleration to 130%:
Nobody is telling you "do not do it".
Everybody is telling you "this cannot be done"
    There is a difference...

I've personally seen a steal running much faster

what do you mean? lead bullet can travel fast too. eyes are easily fooled. do you have any real numbers to prove the different?

who was responsible for this terrain or even the data of the altered robot.

now i am completely lost. "terrain" must mean something different to you.
why do you think that robot was altered in some way?

also, could you perhaps post your code and maybe a link to a video of your application?
