We bought a used robot and are trying to see everythin is righ...im used to kawasaki and is new to fanuc......when i start the robot and try to jog, it saays : 'bad io assgn ; rack 89 slot2;....." and doesnt move at all,.....can you help me figure this out please....

Bad IO just means it can't see something on it's IO side. In this case the second device defined in the Ethernet IP menu. This shouldn't keep you from jogging though.
See what alarms you have active in the alarm menu (menu->4).
Next you would probably need to disable UOPS (menu->next->config), and make sure all the safety circuits are complete.

errors srvo-223 and srvo-058 comes up and the red led SVEMG led on the board is lit right from the start...

srvo-223 is a symptom of srvo-058. Here's the troubleshooting steps for the srvo-058:
SRVO–058 FSSB init error (Group : i Axis : j)
(Explanation)
Communication was interrupted between the main
board and servo amplifier.
(Action 1)
Check whether fuse F3 in the power supply unit has
blown.
(Action 2)
Turn off the power and disconnect the CRF7
connector on the servo amplifier. Then turn on the
power and check whether this alarm occurs again.
(Ignore the alarm SRVO–068 because of
disconnecting the CRF7 connector.) If this alarm
does not occur, the RP1 cable of the robot connection
cable or the internal cable of the robot may be
short–circuited to the ground. Check the cables and
replace it if necessary.
(Action 3)
Check whether the LED (P5V and P3.3V) on the servo
amplifier is lit. If they are not lit, the DC power is not
supplied to the servo amplifier. Make sure the
connector CP6 and CRM67 on the E–stop unit and the
connector CRM67 on the servo amplifier are connected
tightly. If they are connected tightly, replace the servo
amplifier.
(Action 4)
Check the communication cable (optical fiber)
between the main board and servo amplifier. Replace
it if it is faulty.
(Action 5)
Replace the axis control card on the main board.
(Action 6)
Replace the servo amplifier.
(Action 7)
If the other units (the servo amplifier for the auxiliary
axis and the line tracking interface) are connected in
the FSSB optical communication, disconnect these
units and connect only the 6–channel servo amplifier
for the robot. Then turn on the power. If this alarm
does not occur, search the failed unit and replace it.
Before continuing to the next step, perform a complete controller
back–up to save all your programs and settings. Failure to perform
this could result in damage to equipment or lost data.

-the fuses FS1,FS2,FS3, FUSE1,FUSE2, works right......
-there Is port CFR8 instead of CFR7 and when i start the robot controller after disconnecting it , no alarm pops up; it still says just SRVO 223 and SRVO058
-the SVEMG led is lit red always even if i push/release the e-stop on the controller
-the OPEN led led is not lit at all anytime
-the ALARM led is not lit at all, eventhough it shows thers alarm showin on the TP
-i pulled out the optical fibre comm cable and restarted ; still says the same error -

-i pulled out the optical fibre comm cable and restarted ; still says the same errorI have the same issues as quoted above on a brand new LR Mate (R30iB+). Nothing looks out of the ordinary and I checked my fuses. Robot has not moved yet and the software was just installed as well.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Does it give you a specific Group and Axes number with the alarm? I know you said it's brand new but was the software loaded perhaps for an extended axes and you only have 6?

My alarm screen is displaying:
SRVO-223 DSP dry run (9,1)
SRVO-058 FSSB 1 init error (2)Just an FYI, this cell consists of 3 LR Mates with the same software packages. The other two arms had no issues with the software load.
Also, is it worth reloading software?

SRVO-223 DSP dry run (%d,%d)
Cause: A servo DSP initialization failure occurred due to hardware failure or wrong software setting. Then, the software
entered DSP dry run mode. The first number indicates the cause of the failure. The second number is extra
information.
Remedy: Perform an action according to the first number that is displayed in the alarm message.
1: This is a warning due to $SCR.$STARTUP_CND=12.
2,3,4,7: Replace a servo card.
5: Invalid ATR setting. Software axis config (FSSB line number, hardware start axis number, amplifier number, and
amplifier type) might be wrong.
6: SRVO-180 occurs simultaneously. Controllable axis does not exist on any group. Execute aux axis setting to add
axis at controlled start.
8,10: SRVO-058 (FSSB init error) occurs simultaneously. Follow the remedy of SRVO-058.
9: There is no amplifier that is connected to the servo card.
• Check the hardware connection.
• Check the optical fiber cable.
• Check whether the servo am plifier power is supplied.
• Check whether the fuse on the servo amplifier has blown.
• Replace the optical fiber cable.
• Replace the servo amplifier.
11: Invalid axisorder setting. Non-existing axis number is specified. Software axis config (FSSB line number) might be
wrong or auxiliary axis board is necessary.
12: SRVO-059 (Servo amp init error) occurs simultaneously. Follow the remedy of SRVO-059.
13,14,15: Document the events that led to the error, and contact your FANUC technical representative. -
We swapped out the optical cable that goes from the amplifier to the backplane and that resolved our issue...

Also P3.3V wasn't lit.
Turned out to be a dodgy cable in the robot loom.

Just, FYI. Servo 058 comes up on our robots often when the ACC are set too high. Operators like to speed up (200). I usually adjust to 125 and runs fine.
