Hi,
When I try to open my project created in v9.10 on PC with v8.30 I get an error.
Since my controller has version 8.30, can I downgrade my project in Roboguide from v9.10 to v8.30?
Thanks,
Tom

In the software for loading Roboguide, you should see some folder starting with FRVRC. Look for FRVRC830. Open it up & run the setup.exe. There's a whole lot of older software versions you can load if you need them for older Robots.
I did that, I installed v8.30 in roboguide, but since the original project was created in v9.10, the roboguide is complaining that about that.
I want to convert a project created in v9.10 down to v.8.30
Thanks,
Tom
I don't think it's possible. You can most likely salvage the tp programs, io, and registers by saving the individual files. But you will need to start over with a new work cell, then reload those files. The other stuff such as frames, config, payload, etc will need to be redone.

You could try to reserialize the robot to V8.30, but roboguide itself states that this is not recommended. I have personally reserialized up versions, but never down. I don't know if it is possible to go down. If it is, you would probably loose a bunch of stuff like HawkME said.
What I would do is clone the robot in the same workcell, reserialize the clone to downgrade it to V8.30, see what data makes it and what doesn't, then copy what didn't make it by hand to the clone. Once finished, delete the original robot from the cell.
Edit: I maybe confused on if you are trying to downgrade a robot controller within a cell in roboguide, or take the whole cell from roboguide v9 to v8. Roboguide itself is ussually spec'd as V8 Rev E., whereas the controller is in the format v9.10, which is leading to my confusion.
