Hi,
I'm a newcomer to KUKA.
I have a question of whether it is possible to connect the Siemens HMI KP8 to a robot directly without a PLC and use the buttons like start, stop, confirmation, etc.?
The robot is the KR 8 R1620 Cybertech.

You didn't read READ FIRST, apparently.
1. What KRC model?
2. What I/O options does the KRC have installed?
3. What I/O options does the HMI support?
There is no way to answer your question without answers to all three of those questions.
I am so sorry.
- KRC4, 8.3.3
- I/O Beckhoff EK1100, EL1809, EL2809
You still did not answer all three very simple questions.
According to Google, this HMI device does not use discrete IO. As an interface it uses ProfiNet. To add ProfiNet slave to a network, there beed to be a ProfiNet master. If you donot have PLC, this ProfiNet master must be the KRC4. For KRC4 to act as ProfiNet master, your controller must have ProfiNet M/S option installed. It cannot be ProfiNet-/S
